Nursing Administration

Thank you for visiting the Nursing Administration department page. We are available Monday - Friday, 8 am - 4:30 pm. We are staffed with 2.5 full time and part-time employees. Our department provides the overall management of the nursing staff and the nursing services provided.
Responsibilities and Purpose
Nursing Administration is responsible for providing a sufficient number of adequately prepared staff to deliver a high standard of nursing care that is safe, effective, efficient and compassionate.
It is the goal of the nursing department to provide the best care to our patients in the safest, kindest and most efficient way possible within the scope of our means. We encourage comments that can help us improve the care we provide. We ask that all patients SPEAK UP if they have a question or concern about their care, treatments, medications, caregivers or anything they don’t understand or feel uncomfortable with. We also ask that patients and families take an active part in their care or care of their loved ones by providing a thorough history, maintaining and providing a complete and current medication list, and by participating in discharge planning and the instructions given at discharge.
Services Provided
  • Plan, organize, direct and oversee all nursing functions and activities
  • Prepare staffing schedules and maintain attendance records
  • Develop policies and standards of performance
  • Evaluate employee performance and recommend personnel actions to be taken
  • Interview and select staff to fill open positions
  • Serve as support for nursing staff in the performance of their work and career development
  • Assist with employee orientation and training
  • Work with Pharmacy Department to oversee administration and control of medications
  • Serve on Joint Commission Survey Readiness Team
  • Coordinate Infection Prevention and Employee Health Activities
  • Serve on Health and Safety Committee and other Quality Improvement Committees
  • Conduct staff meetings and communicate information to staff
  • Participate in investigation and resolution of complaints and conflicts
  • Coordinates with nursing schools to provide clinical training for nursing students
  • Evaluate and recommend equipment, supplies and materials to improve/promote patient care
  • Work closely with physicians and other departments to achieve standards of care and meet patient needs
