Admission

Open Admission Policy
It is the policy of Monroe County Medical Center to admit and treat all persons without regard to race, color, sex, handicap, national origin or religious creed. Admission requirements and assignments of hospital facilities are the same for all persons. There are no distinctions in eligibility for receiving any patient-care services. Hospital facilities are available to all patients and visitors. Individuals and organizations having occasion to refer patients for admission or recommend Monroe County Medical Center are advised to do so within the hospital's policy to provide quality healthcare for all persons.
Registration
Registration is located inside the front entrance. You or your immediate family members will be asked to provide demographic, insurance, and other information concerning your hospitalization.
TIP: In order to speed up your admission, have your insurance card and physician orders ready to present to the registration clerk.
Consent
You will be asked to sign an Authorization Signature Form which is a General Conditions of Admission, Consent, Assignment of Benefits, and Financial Agreement.
Identification
An identification bracelet will be prepared for you to wear on your wrist. The primary purpose of the identification bracelet is for your safety, so please do not remove the bracelet until you leave the hospital.
Advance Directive
Federal regulations require hospital personnel to inquire as to the presence of an Advance Directive. This includes a living will or durable power of attorney with a healthcare clause. Information on Advance Directives is provided to every patient upon admission.
